FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER PROGRAM

The Federal Skilled Worker Program is Canada's leading and fast-tracked economic immigration pathway that provides skilled workers and their families the privilege to settle in Canada. Candidates who wish to immigrate under the mentioned program must first pursue an expression of interest in immigrating to Canada by Creating an online Express Entry profile. 

Based on the provided information in their profile, Federal Skilled Worker candidates can earn a score under the Express Entry's Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) that determines all the candidates' ranking within the express entry pool. 

Federal Skilled Worker Program requirements

To be able to qualify under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, a certain requirements must be met by each candidate with regards to their years of experience, level of education, age, and the language skill proficiency for English and French.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • An at least one (1) year of continuous full-time or equivalent skilled work experience in the past 10 years (or an equal amount in part-time experience). The skilled work experience refers to experience categorized under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skilled level 0, A, or B.

  • A candidate must at least reach a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in English or French test across all abilities in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

  • A candidate must at least have a Canadian educational credential be it a certificate, diploma, degree, or the equivalent in foreign education.

  • A candidate must have funds sufficient enough to support him/herself and their spouse and/or children in their settlement in Canada.

  • A candidate must intend to live outside the province of Quebec as there is also an independent program and policy of Quebec for professional and skilled worker immigrants.

Selection Factors

In order to be eligible under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, potential candidates have to meet a minimum cut-off score of 67 points out of 100 points.
