QUEBEC SKILLED WORKER

The Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) creates a pathway to those highly educated and skilled foreigners to migrate in Canada. The program does not necessarily require a valid offer of employment from a Canadian or Quebec employer, hence, candidates who are more likely to contribute to the labor needs in Quebec and become economically established are presumably to be selected as a potential immigrant in the province.

Quebec is the only francophone province in Canada. The language skills prerequisite of the QSWP is required to every applicant who shows interest on the program. An official language proficiency test must be shown upon submission of their initial application. Apart from the QSWP's language requirement, the program has also a specific qualifying criteria based on the province's cultural uniqueness. Family members or relatives such as  the applicant's spouse, common-law partner, and any dependent children can be included on his/her application. In practical terms, the program awards additional points to applicants with families, especially those with young children.

Unlike other Provincial and Skilled Worker programs, the Quebec Skilled Worker  Program has no list of any eligible occupations. Applicants may qualify for the program regardless of their field of expertise if the eligibility criteria established by the Immigration of Quebec are met.

Quebec Skilled Worker Program Eligibility
